Daily Reminder

I was browsing old artworks when I discovered this doodle I did way back early last year. Looking at it now and absorbing what it said made feel like I wasn’t practicing what I preached. And so this is a reminder, for me and for us all, to do what everyone ought to do…to LIVE.

EatSleepDraw Magazine

Today, I have received an email from EatSleepDraw Magazine’s cofounder, Lee. Here’s what his e-mail said:

I felt so glad that they finally chose my submission. I have always been submitting my works but none of them was featured on their daily posts from Tumblr. That was pretty much okay since I submit the same stuff to fuckyeahmoleskines.tumblr so this site is actually getting decent views because of that. Anyways, this was really such a nice news to share, I cannot wait to see my work finally published internationally!

I feel so inspired right now!

Fashion Week + Shoe painting

Hiya! This would be my first post for November. I haven’t had any chance to make new illustrated artworks so my updates are a bit more about other things; just like this one. Last October, the second round of the 2009 Fashion week took place. Most of what Human showcased were those of our imported or “Must Haves”, and it was fortunate to have 2 of my designs included in the show. Here they are:

I wasn’t present during the show because it’s a weekend and I believe I should rest. Ha ha ha!

Moving on… Today, I made it a point to finally paint a pair of shoes. I’ve wanted to do this for such a long time but I haven’t really had a chance or time to do so. So here it is, my first ever attempt to paint on such material.

Yehey!

I enjoyed it and realized I missed painting in general. Because of the good result, I’m planning to make more shoe paintings! Woohoo!!! It’s a good thing that I have the drive to be productive not only with work but with other things as well; especially with other things so to speak. I wanna do more! I wanna create more! I hope I have a chance to do that in the future.

To the future!

Just Got Wimpy!

I just came from the bookstore and I realized  how much I love shopping there. I love shopping for paper products (some of which I don’t really use) like journals, sketchpads, etc. I like writing, doodling, and inking on papers until they get deformed because of how hard I press on my pen. While going around the book store I spotted a journal called ” DIARY of a Wimpy Kid Do-It-Yourself Book”; actually, it’s a kid’s journal and I had my mom buy it for me because I don’t really bring cash when I’m with her.*smirk*

I’m so excited about filling it up with crazy ideas and such! Here let me share some pages in the book, some stuff are just so funny!

6. Give yourself a haircut.

7.Write down an idea for an invention- I will!

8. Spend 3 nights in a row away from home.

9. Mail someone a letter with a real stamp and everything.

10. Go on a campout.

11. Read a whole book with no pictures in it.

13. Make it through a whole lollipop without biting it. -This is hard!

14. Use a porta-potty.- Ugh.

15. Try out for a talent show. -LOL!

These are the stuff listed by the Wimpy Kid (I marked some that I’ve already done!), I’ll share mine here too!

THINGS I SHOULD DO BEFORE I GET OLD:

1. Bungee jump!

Fish Girl

Meet Ponyo the Fish Girl!

I am so excited to watch this Japanese animated movie, it is just so cute! I learned about Ponyo from my officemate Kym. She took a photo the movie’s poster/LED ad when she went to Hong Kong but she doesn’t know its title. She showed me the photo of a scene where Ponyo is riding the jellyfish, it’s really cute! It has been 5 months or so and we still didn’t know what the title of the movie was until I got bored a while ago and browsed STATUS magazine. (It’s really a fine fine thing when your boss ain’t around to keep an eye on you.) As I browsed through, I saw a photo of Ponyo through the recommended movies portion! I was ecstatic! The movie’s title is “Ponyo on the Cliff By the Sea” it was written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki.

It tells about a fish girl who wants to be a human and eventually falls into the hands of a small boy, named Sosuke who lives in a house near a cliff. It will be released in US theaters this August. I wish I can watch it! I’m quite certain that this is a nice film because it became a really big hit in Japan and abroad. I want to watch more films like this; I think the last one of its kind that I saw was Spirited Away, which is also nice! Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea stands 2nd as Japan’s biggest hits in 2008, ranking second to Nintendo Wii. Cool huh?

Before I browsed the magazine where I saw Ponyo, I was soooo bored. PROOF.

Work2

Is this the look of someone who wants to quit work anytime soon? Hahahaha! Uh-oh!

-Love, laugh, ad love some more!-
